Palestinians Soon To Outnumber Jews In Israel And The West Bank

By the end of next year, the combined number of Palestinians in Israel and the West Bank will equal the total number of Jews living in the West Bank and Israel proper, Ha’aretz reported.
The new projection by the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statics (PCBS) should put Israel’s demographic problems on the front burner in Israel but may not do so because the ways that could be used by Israel to resolve them – primarily withdrawing from parts or all of the West Bank – clash with the philosophy of Israel’s right-wing government.
PCBS says that currently the total Palestinian population worldwide is 12.37 million. 1.85 million live in the Gaza Strip and 2.9 million in the West Bank and 1.47 million in Israel proper. 5.46 million live in various Arab countries while 685,000 live in non-Arab countries worldwide.
That means 6.22 million Palestinians and 6.34 million Jews live in Gaza, the West Bank and Israel proper today.
Because the Palestinian birth rate is higher than the Jewish birthrate, the two population will be nearly equal in number by the end of 2017, if not sooner.
By the end of 2020 Palestinians will outnumber Jews by about 500,000 people.
