The two arrested haredim are accused of violating privacy laws and “insulting public servants in the performance of their duty,” police said in a statement, by publicizing their names and personal contact information in an effort to facilitate harassment of the haredi IDF soldiers and their supporters and to allegedly incite violence against them.

Israel Police arrested two haredi men this morning, one reportedly in Beitar Illit and the other in Bnei Brak, for allegedly harassing haredi IDF soldiers and the handful of haredim who help recruit them and who help them during their years of service.
The two arrested haredim are accused of violating privacy laws and “insulting public servants in the performance of their duty,” police said in a statement, the Times of Israel reported, by publicizing their names and personal contact information in an effort to facilitate harassment of the haredi IDF soldiers and their supporters and to allegedly incite violence against them.
Over the past two years there has been a wave of haredi harassment and physical attacks against haredi IDF soldiers incited by pamphlets and posters depicting haredi soldiers as pigs pretending to be kosher in order to lure pure haredi youth into sin and by other related incitement by haredi rabbis and community leaders.
Across the board, leading haredi rabbis vehemently oppose drafting haredi yeshiva students into the IDF and oppose any mandatory or voluntary IDF or national civilian service for haredim.
