The Ashkenazi haredi Elkayam girls school in the haredi city of Bnei Brak repeatedly refused to admit a Sefardi student, causing Israel’s Ministry of Education to give the school one week to rectify the problem or face a complete government funding cut.
The school’s adamant refusal to accept the girl is reportedly due to ethnic discrimination, Yeshiva World reported.
