In a new letter today, the Committee of Management of Chabad's flagship Yeshivah Centre in Melbourne, Australia says it will not tolerate harassment of victims of child sex abuse.
But yesterday Chabad's flagship Yeshiva Centre honored a man who has repeatedly harassed child sex abuse victims and their families – Rabbi Zvi Hirsh Telsner, who resigned last month after yet again being caught harassing a victim of child sex abuse. Chabad had Telsner speak, promoted that speech heavily, and treated Telsner as if her were a great rabbi – not an enabler of pedophiles and an abuser of victims.
So which is is it? What does Chabad really believe? The 'talk' of the letter or the 'walk' of how it treats Telsner and other equally guilty leaders, all of whom still have free rein in Yeshivah Centre, all of whom are still treated with honor?
