Agudath Israel of America's annual convention is fast approaching, and its keynote session is called "OTD: Why Are They Leaving?" But no people who have left the haredi community are on the panel. Instead, the panel has a haredi psychologist, a haredi kiruv rabbi, and a haredi pulpit rabbi known for kiruv-style work in Minneapolis before his move to Brooklyn several years ago.
There's a petition on Change.org that calls for Agudah to add an OTD person to the panel:
Having a panel discussion on why people leave Orthodoxy without a single formerly Orthodox person on the panel, is like having a congressional hearing on abortions and not including a single woman.
