Rabbi Marc Schneier was expelled from the Rabbinical Council of America (RCA) earlier this year over sexual indiscretions related to Schneier's divorce from his fourth wife and marriage to his fifth. This supposedly led the board of Schneier's synagogue to force him to resign, as FailedMessiah.com reported. But through a spokesman Schneier denied the resignation. "It never happened," the spokesperson said.

Rabbi Marc Schneier, the embattled founding rabbi of the tony Hampton Synagogue in Southampton, New York and the co-founder with with hip hop mogul Russell Simmons of the Foundation for Ethnic Understanding, says he is not resigning.
Schneier's spokesperson Hank Sheinkopf contacted FailedMessiah.com over the weekend and denied FailedMessiah.com's report Saturday that Schneier had announced his resignation during Shabbat prayer services.
"It never happened," Sheinkopf said.
When asked why Schneier had not responded to questions from FailedMessiah.com about his pending resignation posed directly to Schneier via email on July 12, Sheinkopf said he was unaware Schneier had been asked those questions or that FailedMessiah.com had published a story on July 12 that said Schneier would be leaving the synagogue and moving to Israel.
