“God, the creator of the world, did not give you authority to judge me, and so I am not interested in asking questions or responding to them,” Shlissel told the court. The court asked Shlissel, who is representing himself, to stand when addressing the court, but Shlissel refused. “I am not interested in getting up,” he said.

Haredi Jerusalem Gay Pride Parade Terrorist Charged With Murder

Haredi Jerusalem Gay Pride Parade terrorist Yishai Shlissel (also spelled: “Schlissel”) was formally arraigned in the Jerusalem District Court Monday and charged with one count of murder and six counts of attempted murder, the Jerusalem Post reported.
Shlissel staged a similar attack on the parade in 2005, wounding three people, and served 10 years in prison. He was released just three weeks before this year’s parade but Israel’s woebegone police force failed to keep him under surveillance or keep him from approaching this year’s parade, even though he made public threats against the parade after his release from prison.
At this year’s parade, Shlissel murdered 16-year-old Shira Banki and wounded six others.
As he had done during earlier court appearances last month, Monday Schlissel refused to recognize the court’s authority.
Despite Shlissel’s continued refusal to employ counsel or use counsel from the Public Defender’s Office, the court reportedly ordered the public defender to continue to speak for Shlissel in court.
