He allegedly cut heat and air conditioning to frail elderly residents, fed them spoiled food, and cut staffing to dangerous levels to try to force residents of his unlicensed nursing home to move so he could sell the building and make tens of millions of dollars in profit. And now the attorney representing many residents says he will continue to file $5 million orders of attachment against Haysha Deitsch for each every one of those individual residents so Deitsch cannot profit from his evil.

Attorney Dennis Kelly says he will continue to file $5 million orders of attachment against Haysha Deitsch for each every one of the residents of the Prospect Park Residence (or their estates) Kelly represents in order to stop Deitsch from profiting on the backs of his abused clients.
The Daily News reported Kelly has successfully filed two orders of attachment already and is the process of filing a third.
Deitsch told a Brooklyn court last year that he didn’t have the money to operate the assisted living facility and asked the court to allow its sale. But Deitsch did have millions of dollars to purchase two other Brooklyn properties – $6.5 million for L-and-B Auto Repair and $3.3 million in Park Slope – that he wants to tear down and replace with a luxury condominium high rise.
Deitsch bought the Prospect Park Residence, an assisted living facility for frail elderly, in 2006 for $40 million and began to slowly cut services to residents. In 2009, a retired judge allegedly froze to death in a room he was confined to by Deitsch’s staff after Deitsch allegedly cut heating.
Last year Deitsch made a bid to close the facility after he was offered $80 million for the property, which would also be developed as luxury housing. Deitsch allegedly further cut heating and cooling, served spoiled food and dangerously reduced staff to try to force out the remaining tenants. As of this writing, fewer than 10 remain in the facility.
Deitsch is a prominent Chabad hasid from a leading Crown Heights family of Chabad hasidim.
