Yesterday, the New York State Department of Health announced new vaccine rules for school children. Children now require two doses of the measles, mumps, rubella vaccine and children in grades K-5 need five doses of DTaP, while children entering kindergarten and grades 1,6 and 7 must have four doses of polio vaccine. This new protocol follows recommendations made by the US Centers for Disease Control (CDC).
