2 Brooklyn Haredi Girls Killed In Horrific Motor Vehicle Accident

Two haredi girls from Brooklyn, 23-year-old Raizel Morgenstern and 27-year-old Hindy Spira, were reportedly killed in a car accident yesterday afternoon in Holbrook, Arizona. Two other girls in the car with them were seriously injured.
A tractor trailer apparently crossed the highway’s center line and struck the vehicle the girls, who were on vacation, were driving.
People are asked to pray for the two surviving girls – 24-year-old Miriam bas Gittel, who is a daughter of the head of Misaskim, Rabbi Yanky Meyer; and 26-year-old Faiga Sarah bas Bracha Chaya Myerovitz – and for the families and friends of the two girls who died in the crash.
Update 6:06 pm CDT – The haredi media left out some key information. But the New York City tabloids didn't and the JTA summarizes it:
…The accident happened when Morgenstern, apparently either not seeing the tractor-trailer or underestimating its speed, made a left turn. Police said neither Morgenstern nor the driver of the tractor-trailer appeared to be speeding or under the influence of alcohol.
The driver of the tractor-trailer suffered neck and back injuries, according to the New York Post.
The women, who were all teachers at haredi Orthodox schools in Brooklyn, according to the Post, had spent the past Shabbat visiting a friend, Rochie Engel, in Los Angeles.…
