A hasidic "very clean" individual offers to wear your clothes before the 9 days of mourning (i.e., the first 9 days of the Hebrew month of Av) and do so following the custom of the Ari (Rabbi Isaac Luria) – all for a minimal fee.
Wearing clothes before the 9 days makes them "dirty," and that allows them to be worn during the 9 days commemorating the destruction of the Jerusalem Temple – a time when wearing clean clothes, eating meat, drinking wine, and other signs of celebration or happiness are forbidden.
