Actually, a newspaper affiliated with the Sefardi haredi Shas Party, photoshopped an offical photo of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's entire new cabinet to entirely remove its three female members – including the new minister in charge of gender equality.
The Jerusalem Post reports that on her Facebook page, the head of the left-wing secular Meretz Party, Zehava Gal-On, posted a picture of the front cover of Actually, a newspaper affiliated with the Sefardi haredi Shas Party.
On that front page?
A photo Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's entire new cabinet – except for its three female members: the right-wing Zionist Orthodox HaBayit HaYehudi Party’s Ayelet Shaked, the Likud Party’s Gila Gamliel, and Likud’s Miri Regev. Gamliel is, ironically, the minister in charge of gender equality.
All three powerful women are in the original photo, which comes from the government. But the Shas-linked haredi paper removed them, just as if they were never there.
The government photo is at right, at left is the Shas Party's photoshopping of it. Please click to enlarge:
Who's missing:
The photoshopped photo was also published by the haredi news website Behadrei Haredim, except it pixillated the female faces and necks, but forgot to deal with Miri Regev's legs.
On the other hand, Yeshiva World, which is based in Brooklyn and which is not hasidic or Sefardi, published the uncensored photo.
