Satmar Zalman Faction Files Suit Against Rival Aharon Faction Over Destroyed KJ Buildings

The Williamsburg-based Satmar Zalman faction filed suit yesterday against its arch rival, the Satmar Aharon faction, over four Zalman buildings the Aharon faction allegedly destroyed in the hasidic village of Kiryas Joel, New York in January. The two factions are respectively headed by brothers Rabbi Zalman and Rabbi Aharon Teitelbaum. The brothers' father was the previous Satmar Rebbe. The Aharon faction controls almost all of Kiryas Joel and the suit was filed in Orange County, New York, where Kiryas Joel is located.
