Moishe Eisenbach, a school bus driver for a New Square hasidic yeshiva, Yeshiva Avir Yakov, allegedly ran a stop sign and crashed into an East Ramapo school district mini bus this morning, police reportedly said.
The driver of the East Ramapo bus, a 68-year-old woman, complained of body pain and was taken to Nyack Hospital by the Spring Hill Ambulance Corps, the Journal News reported.
There were three elementary students on the Avir Yakov bus when the crash took place just before 8:00 am. None were reported injured.
The 39-year-old Eisenbach was driving on Church Street when he allegedly failed to stop for stop sign at the intersection of West Street.
He struck the East Ramapo mini bus which was then pushed about 40 feet into a utility pole, which cracked from the impact, and the East Ramapo bus continued, slamming into the iron fence of the St. John the Baptist Church.
"This could have been a disaster," Spring Valley Police Lieutenant Jack Bosworth told the Journal News.
Eisenbach was reportedly charged with passing a stop sign, which is a simple violation.
