27-year-old hasid Motti Gerber was trampled to death at Sunday’s funeral of 101-year-old hasidic leader Rabbi Shmuel HaLevi Wosner.
Unfortunately, Gerber was not the only hasid to be critically injured.
The condition of Yitzchok Samet, an 18-year-old newly married hasidic yeshiva student who was also trampled at Wosner’s funeral, has dangerously deteriorated, Yeshiva World reported.
Samet is now in extremely critical condition, and his life hangs in the balance.
People are asked to pray for Yitzchok ben Eidel.
Another haredi man, as yet unnamed, is reportedly still in critical condition, and yet another haredi man, also as yet unnamed, is in serious condition. Both were trampled at Wosner’s funeral, as well.
A 14-year-old boy, Yisrael Meir ben Raizel, was also injured at Wosner’s funeral and has a serious head injury. He has now been taken taken off mechanical ventilation and is breathing on his own. His condition is reportedly listed as “stable but still life-threatening.”
People who wish to are asked to pray for Yisrael Meir ben Raizel.
In all, more than 100 people were injured or fell ill at the funeral as hasidim pushed and shoved in an effort to get close to Wosner’s body as it was being taken from his yeshiva for burial.
