Three Hasidim Arrested For Drug Possession, Related Charges, In Crown Heights

Two Crown Heights, Brooklyn Chabad men were arrested last Wednesday trying to flee the scene of a vehicle crash on Empire Boulevard, Crown Heights dot info reported.
Police reportedly found drugs in the men’s van, which was driven by a 16-year-old Chabad teen when it collided with another vehicle.
Detectives from the District Attorney’s office saw the crash take place and followed the fleeing van. NYPD officers responded to their call for backup and took the driver and his 23-year-old passenger into custody.
Police found marijuana and amphetamines in the van and both the 16-year-old and the 23-year-old were arrested and later were charged with with possession and fleeing the scene of an accident.

One of the three arrested hasidim/ex-hasidim later allegedly climbed the bars of his holding cell and tore down part of the cell’s drop ceiling, light fixtures and electrical boxes and was separately charged with criminal mischief for that incident.
