Comedian-Actress Sarah Silverman is now campaigning for the left-wing Israeli Meretz Party.

"ISRAEL! If you are a Meretz supporter you NEED to VOTE MARCH 17. Every vote counts. If you don't vote, you can't complain," Silverman tweeted today.

Meretz was appreciative of Silverman’s endorsement.

"Thanks for the support Sarah! We love you!" the party tweeted on its official Twitter account and Meretz chairwoman Zehava Gal-On reportedly posted a screenshot of Silverman’s tweet on Facebook “with a caption mocking a statement Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made Tuesday that there is a worldwide effort to topple Likud,” the Jerusalem Post reported.

Silverman's sister, Reform Rabbi Susan Silverman, lives in Israel and holds the 20th spot on the Meretz list.
