In federal court in Trenton, New Jersey today, prosecutors are playing secretly-made video recordings of the alleged “Prodfather,” Rabbi Mendel Epstein, the AP reported.

Epstein is reportedly heard saying that it would cost the pair at least $60,000 to get "tough guys" to kidnap the sister’s ‘husband’ and beat a Jewish religious divorce known as a “get” out of him. Epstein speaks of using cattle prods and karate to torture the ‘husband’ until he complies and signs the divorce papers.
Epstein – who has homes in Brooklyn, New York and Lakewood, New Jersey – his son and two other haredi rabbis are charged with conspiracy to commit kidnapping and attempted kidnapping.
Epstein’s attorney reportedly has not disputed Epstein did what the videotape shows. Instead, he argues that what Epstein did doesn’t rise to the level of true federal kidnapping and extortion.
