"Urgent Appeal For Pidyon Shvuyim"

Rabbi Mendel EpsteinThe haredi gang allegedly used an electric cattle prod and kidnapping to force husbands to give their wives a Jewish divorce known as a get. But this wasn't altruistic. These haredi thugs charged about $100,000 per divorce. They were arrested by the FBI, and the few who have not yet pleaded guilty – Rabbi Mendel Epstein, the alleged ringleader, for example, go on trial soon. And that means…another haredi pidyon shvuyim (redemption of the captives) appeal.
