The body of 24-year-old convicted offender Levi Moscowitz was found at 8:20 am Saturday morning inside the southern boundary of Griffith Park in Los Angeles. Moscowitz was from a prominent Chabad family in Chicago. His uncle was the head Chabad emissary in Illinois and his grandfather (or great-grandfather) was Nissan Neminov, a very prominent Chabad hasid who was a rosh yeshiva in several Chabad underground yeshivas in the Soviet Union and later founded and was a senior rabbi at the Chabad yeshiva in Brunoy in the Paris suburbs. While only in his 30s, the 6th Lubavitcher Rebbe Yosef Isaac Schneersohn said that Neminov was a beinoni in the terms of the Tanya – a man whose every thought, speech, and action conforms to halakha (Jewish law). The 7th Lubavitch Rebbe Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson regularly sent followers to Neminov for spiritual advice.

The body of 24-year-old convicted offender Levi Moscowitz was found at 8:20 am Saturday morning inside the southern boundary of Griffith Park in Los Angeles, said LA County coroner Watch Commander Larry Dietz told the LA Times tonight.
Moscowitz was sentenced last year after pleading guilty to arranging to meet two minors for sex.
The cause of death has not yet been determined and an autopsy has not yet been performed, Dietz said.
Moscowitz was arrested on Feb. 28, 2014 after being caught in a police sting operation soliciting sex with a 13-year old and a 15-year-old. Moscowitz posted an ad on Craig’s List soliciting incestuous sex with minors. He then tried to make arrangements to have sex with the two children, who he thought were brother and sister. But the children’s father Moscowitz thought he was dealing with was really a police officer, and when Moscowitz showed up for the sex he was arrested.
Moscowitz, who is from a prominent Chabad family in the Chicago area, got a sweetheart plea deal many think was brokered in part by Chabad in Los Angeles, which is a very powerful there. Moscowitz was allowed to plead guilty to one felony count of meeting a minor for lewd purposes and was sentenced to one day in jail, a year of counseling and five years of probation.
In March, he was also convicted of possession of an illegal handgun is an unrelated case. His sentence is not known.
His attorney, Tiffany E. Feder, told the Los Angeles Times tonight that Moscowitz was religious and sincere.
“He was committed to his continued treatment and to leading a productive life. It devastates me that he’ll be remembered as some sort of sex offender.”
Moscowitz worked in gay porn using the name "Izzy Klein" and worked for the "Dirty Tony" gay porn company.
He also admitted to sexually abusing a child and said he wanted to molest others.
Moscowitz also had a long history of involvement in illegal drugs and apparently frequented prostitutes.
