WPIX 11's Mary Murphy is doing a story tonight about the life and death of anti-child sex abuse activist (and child sex abuse victim) Joey DiAngelo, who passed away earlier this week.
Something brief may air at 5 pm but the main report will air at 10pm. (All times Eastern Daylight. WPIX is a New York City TV Station.)
Joey left Brooklyn's hasidic community, changed his name, and spent years fighting to end child sex abuse in the hasidic communities he left. He also was a strong advocate for mental health care for survivors and of suicide prevention.
And on top of all that, he was a heavy metal musician and a really nice guy.
