A former NYPD Jewish liaison has reportedly been arrested on grand larceny and and criminal possession of stolen property charges.
37-year-old Shulem “Sol” Lipschitz, a community affairs Jewish representative at the NYPD’s 62nd precinct in Brooklyn, was arrested at around 3:00pm Thursday in Borough Park and is being held at the NYPD’s 66th precinct there, JP Updates reported.
Lipschitz allegedly stole a blank check from a person, made it out for $2,300, and then cashed it at a Brooklyn check cashing on September 29.
More criminal charges reportedly may be pending.

Update 9:28 pm CDT – I’m told that Lipschitz has a long history of borrowing money from people but not allegedly not repaying it, and of leasing cars in other’s names but not paying the bills. He allegedly did the same with use of other people’s credit cards.
He recently quit his job, changed his telephone number and dropped out of contact, apparently to hide from some of these people and perhaps from police.
