People claiming to be the Rockland County Board of elections made at least one call today and left a voicemail telling the recipient to go out and vote no in the referendum on converting the town of Ramapo, New York to the ward system – something that would likely reduce haredi power.
But the call appears to have come from aboiler room staffed by haredim, and there were likely many suc calls made.
The Ramapo Times and Rockland Star called the number associated with that voicemail and recorded it.

The people who answered the phone call clearly sound haredi. The call was answered "elections," and the person who answered and those who picked up the phone call afterr that identified themselves as the "board of elections" or the "Rockland County board of elections."
The Ramapo Times and Rockland Star asked these people falsely claiming to be the board of elections why people should vote no.
“Because that’s um. that’s how it is” and “It’s better for us here in Rockland and this is what they want us to do," were the answers. The "board of elections" did not answer when asked who "they" are.
This is both election fraud and illegally impersonating a government entity it's likely a felony offence that could even be prosecuted federally if the county and state do not step in and arrest these people.
