Thousands of Palestinians are marching from Ramallah towards Jerusalem as IDF reportedly uses live fire to try to turn them back. At Least 1 Palestinian has been killed and 21 wounded.
Thousands of Palestinians are marching from Ramallah towards Jerusalem now, Ha'aretz has just reported.
"Palestinian ambulances, blaring their horns, are streaming in the opposite direction, carrying protesters wounded by IDF fire at the Kalandia checkpoint," Ha'aretz says.
Update 3:45 pm CDT – Ha'aretz is now reporting that one Palestinian has been killed and 21 wounded in clashes at the Qalandiyah (sometimes spelled "Kalandia") checkpoint in the West Bank.
Update 4:20 pm CDT – Two Palestinians were killed tonight in clashes with police in East Jerusalem as thousands of West Bank Palestinians marched on Jerusalem. Dozens of Palestinians were wounded, seven of them seriously. Additionally, there have been sporadic riots tonight by Arabs across East Jerusalem. At least two policeman have been injured, as well. Update 6:10 pm CDT – Ha'aretz reports that Palestinian media is reporting two deaths at the Qalandiyah checkpoint, Mohammad Al Araj, 19, and Majed Sufian, 27, while Palestinian medical sources say that more than ten of those wounded there were brought to the hospital in critical condition.
About 60 people in all were wounded by live fire, and other by what likely was rubber bullet fire.
Fatah's armed wing, the Al-Aqsa Brigades, is reportedly claiming responsibility for the attacks on Israel security forces at the Qalandiyah checkpoint that led to Israel police and security forces firing on the mob.
Meanwhile, Palestinians in East Jerusalem are reporting dozens of Palestinian rioters have been wounded in clashes with police, including four wounded by live gunfire. So far, 39 Palestinian rioters have reportedly been arrested by police.
