Bnei Akiva of the US and Canada is deeply saddened by the kidnapping and brutal murder of innocent teenagers Gilad Shaar, Naftali Frenkel and Eyal Yifrach. Our prayers are with the families and all of Israel.

As you may be aware, a leader of World Bnei Akiva in Israel has reacted to this tragedy with inflammatory comments. These comments were his own and do not represent the broader movement of Bnei Akiva. Bnei Akiva of the US and Canada unequivocally condemns any acts of vigilantism.

The unnamed, nonspecific, one of many "leader[s] of World Bnei Akiva in Israel" is in actuality the secretary-general of the entire Zionist Orthodox World Bnei Akiva Movement, Rabbi Noam Perel.

Bnei Akiva in the US and Canada is part of World Bnei Akiva.

And what Perel called for is indiscriminate mass murder of Arabs as revenge for the kidnapping and murder of those three Zionist Orthodox boys on the West Bank last month, not simply vigilantism.

If you can't name the perpetrator in your statement, and you can't accurately say what he did wrong, your disavowal has to be called into question.
