Arabs are rioting again in East Jerusalem, Ynet reported.
Dozens of Arab teens set trash cans on fire, threw stones and lobbed fireworks at Israeli police in the Shuafat refugee camp, which is essentially a neighborhood of East Jerusalem.
A police officer was reportedly injured and was treated on the scene.
Muhammad Hussein Abu Khdeir, the 16-year-old Arab boy whose burned body was found Wednesday in the Jerusalem forest adjacent to western Jerusalem, was allegedly kidnapped from Shuafat Tuesday and murdered shortly afterward in what many fear was a murder carried out by Jews in revenge for the kidnapping and murder of three Israeli teenagers on the West Bank last month.
Arabs rioted in several East Jerusalem neighborhoods yesterday, as well.
Abu Khdeir’s autopsy, conducted with a West Bank Arab pathologist present, was finally carried out today after several delays, all caused by government mishandling that some believe to have been intentional.
The autopsy results have been given to police, to Israel’s Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon.
Ya'alon, who hopes to replace Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as the leader of the right-of-center Likud Party, accused Netanyahu today of not combating terrorism with a strong enough hand.
"A policy of calm for calm means we accept the situation in which boys on their way home are being kidnapped and murdered. It means we accept a situation in which living in the south is a danger and a continuous nightmare [due to terrorist missiles fired from Gaza], and mostly we just encourage our enemies to set the agenda for us as they please, and this is a grave mistake. Why are we, a sovereign nation with a strong army, begging a terror organization to give us calm? We need to recover the deterrence in a way that they are the ones begging for calm. What are we teaching our enemies all over the world? That they can do anything to us and we'll turn the other cheek," Ya’alom said.
The findings of the autopsy report have not yet been made public.
Update 3:21 pm CDT – Ha'aretz is reporting that the riots spread to the neighborhoods of Silwan and Issawiya.
Fires are burning in open areas near the Damascus Gate and Hadassah Hospital, apparently caused byf firebombs.
Palestinians are now claiming that there was another attempted kidnapping, this time of a 7-year-old boy from Beit Hanina .
