“While my boy was kidnapped he cried for my help and for me to save him. People who were nearby heard his cries. He said 'Dad, dad, save me!’ My beloved son was kind to everyone, and now I fear for my life and the life of my family.…I hold the government responsible for what is happening to us. Arabs Riot Across East Jerusalem As Murdered Boy Is Laid To Rest

A wave of violent riots by Palestinians broke out across Jerusalem today as Mohammed Abu Khdeir, the 16-year-old Palestinian boy who may have been murdered in a revenge attack carried out by right wing Jews, was being buried.
At least 18 and as many as 35 Palestinians have reportedly been injured, one of them seriously.
Who killed the boy is still unclear, but Ha’aretz reported today that the evidence is now increasingly pointing to the murder being conducted by right wing Jews.
The kidnapping of the three Israeli boys, and the discovery of the boys’ bodies early this week, have prompted a wave of calls by Israeli rightists for revenge attacks against Arabs.
The boy's father said his son was killed by "fascist murderers" and is demanding that Israel find them and destroy their houses, Ynet reported, just as Israel destroyed the houses of the of the three Israeli teens kidnapped and murdered on the West Bank last month.
“While my boy was kidnapped he cried for my help and for me to save him. People who were nearby heard his cries. He said 'Dad, dad, save me!’ My beloved son was kind to everyone, and now I fear for my life and the life of my family.…I hold the government responsible for what is happening to us. I demand [Prime Minister] Benjamin Netanyahu demolish the house of whoever killed by son, like he destroyed the homes of behind the murder of the three Israeli teens,” Hussein Abu Khdeir reportedly said.
Netanyahu and many other senior Israeli politicians have condemned Mohammed Abu Khdeir’s murder. But some more extreme right wing politicians, like Minister of Economy, Religious Affairs and the Diaspora Naftali Bennett of the right wing Zionist Orthodox HaBayit HaYehudi Party, have not or have done so only in a backhanded way.
On his Facebook page, Bennett called the murder of Abu Khadier a “terrible” act in a one-off statement embedded in a post titled “You will not silence us” that calls for extreme state-sanctioned revenge against Palestinians.
You will not silence us
**
In recent days and in the days to come you will read a lot about “extremism" and "irresponsible people". Some will use stronger terminology in response to our demands for a powerful response following the difficult events we experienced.
Their goal: To silence my position.
**
It will not work. I will not be silenced, and I have no intention of apologizing.
Terrorism has been escalating in recent days, and it requires us to return the deterrence of the State of Israel.
**
Israel’s deterrence should be carried out by the government, not by any criminal acts of citizens.
The murder of the boy is a terrible thing, whatever the motives were. I emphasize that we do not know yet what the background is for the murder.
Nobody should take the law into his own hands, ever. We must not learn that from our enemies.
**
The blood of our brothers is crying out to us from the earth.
Bennett has also failed to condemn a call made by World Bnei Akiva Secretary-General Rabbi Noam Perel for the wholesale slaughter of Palestinians as revenge for the murder of the three Israeli boys.
Perel has since said his remarks, posted on his personal Facebook page and on Facebook group for World Bnei Akiva emissaries but since removed, were "misrepresented due to their biblical and poetic style" and apoligized for any pain this 'misrepresentation' may have caused.
But Perel's original posts clearly called for the murder of hundreds if not thousands of Palestinains.
"An entire nation and thousands of years of history demand revenge. The government of Israel is gathering for a revenge meeting that isn't a grief meeting. The landlord has gone mad at the sight of his sons' bodies. A government that turns the army of searchers to an army of avengers, an army that will not stop at 300 Philistine foreskins. The disgrace will be paid for with the blood of the enemy, not with our tears,” Perel wrote, referencing the biblical story of David, who killed 200 Philistines and gave their foreskins to King Saul as the bride price to marry Saul’s daughter.
Opposition Leader Isaac Herzog called on Bennett to condemn Perel's remarks because Perel's is a senior figure in Bennett's HaBayit HaYehudi Party. If Bennett does not do so, Herzog said, Netanyahu should fire him.
So far, Bennett has not condemned Perl's remarks.
Mohammed Abu Khdeir’s funeral started after Friday Muslim prayers ended.
During the funeral, dozens of Arabs teens – some reportedly wearing masks – began rioting, burning tires and stoning police in the Ras al-Amud and Wadi al-Joz neighborhoods.
Police reportedly responded by firing stun grenades.
The rioting has apparently spread to other East Jerusalem neighborhoods as well, including Shuafat, where Abu Khdeir’s family lives.
At the request of Israeli police, Israeli Arabs are now reportedly guarding their mosques and schools in the Little Triangle area of the Galilee against possible Jewish price tag or revenge attacks.
"In certain areas we spoke with religious and community leaders and asked them to be on alert and keep their eyes open, and suggested that people keep watch over mosques so no harm will come to them," a senior Israeli police official told Ynet.
Update 12:18 pm CDT – Ha'aretz is reporting that 13 police officers were lightly wounded. Six of them were taken to a hospital. It's not clear if any of them have been admiited or if they were treated in the emergency room only.
