Important Announcement
To the parents of the pupils in our institutions
As is well known to everyone, that it has always been accepted as an obvious matter, the halakha that girls aged three and above must be dressed properly modestly, and our late Rebbe [i.e., Rabbi Yoel Teitelbaum] also stood firm about this.
And in light of the fact that there has been a lapse in standards by some people [in] that girls from the age three are going dressed with short socks.
Therefore, at a meeting which was held by the Rebbe [i.e., Rabbi Aharon Teitelbaum, the Kiryas Joel Satmar Rebbe], it was decided that: Households who do not take care of this issue (even in times when one is not in school), their children will not be accepted into our schools, which has been established to educate out children to behave themselves according to the Torah.
And may it be the will of God that in the merit that we guard on the boundaries of modesty, we should be rewarded to be able to bring up righteous generations blessed by God with tranquillity of soul and mind, and our sons and daughters should be able to greet the face of the messiah.
