Kabbalist Rabbi Ya'akov Adas reportedly collapsed at the Kotel (Western Wall) Friday.
Onlookers called for medical help and the EMS responders wanted to take Adas to a hospital, but close followers of the eccentric kabbalist reportedly refused to allow them to do so.
But then later Friday afternoon, Adas had to be taken to Shaarei Tzedek Hospital in Jerusalem as his condition worsened.
Adas – who frequently exhibits symptoms of severe Obsessive Compulsive Syndrome (OCD) – allegedly had been fasting and praying nonstop since learning about the three teenage boys kidnapped in the West Bank June 12.
Adas is reportedly suffering from dehydration and although still hospitalized is now said to be in stable condition.
