Haredi Former Jerusalem Mayor Rabbi Uri Lupoliansky is reportedly planning to appeal his six-year prison sentence for bribery.
Lupolianski took hundreds of thousands of dollars in bribes from real estate developers as part of the wider Holyland scandal that saw many others, including former prime minister Ehud Olmert, convicted, as well.
Lupolianski is recovering from cancer and argues the Israel Prison Service can’t adequately provide him with lifesaving medical care – a claim one court rejected when it sentenced him earlier this month.
