The right wing Zionist Orthodox Chief Rabbi of Kiryat Arba and Hebron, Dov Lior, says he knows why three Zionist Orthodox teenage boys were kidnapped on the West Bank last Thursday night. But Lior isn’t blaming the fact that the boys were hitchhiking after dark in an area targeted by Palestinian terrorists, or that he and other settler rabbis and leaders refused the IDF’s repeated requests to warn their followers not to hitchhike due the increased danger of terrorist kidnappings – Lior is blaming the 'anti-Jewish' Israeli government.

Anti-Jewish Laws Passed By Israeli Government Caused Kidnapping Of 3 Boys, Leading Zionist Orthodox Settler Rabbi Says

The right wing Zionist Orthodox Chief Rabbi of Kiryat Arba and Hebron, Dov Lior, says he knows why three Zionist Orthodox teenage boys were kidnapped on the West Bank last Thursday night.
Lior isn’t blaming the fact that the boys were hitchhiking after dark in an area targeted by Palestinian terrorists, or that he and other settler rabbis and leaders refused the IDF’s repeated requests to warn their followers not to hitchhike due the increased danger of terrorist kidnappings.
So who did the West Bank settlers’ effective chief rabbi blame?
According to the Zionist Orthodox website Srugim, Lior cited Maimonides on the need to clarify the cause of suffering and blamed new laws passed by the Knesset that Lior claims are meant to harm and erode the Jewish character of the state for the terrorist kidnapping.
Lior played his blame game in a letter, addressed to "Our brothers the children of Israel who love our people and our holy land," released yesterday (and posted below).
"…Every one of us must examine himself to see whether he conducts his lifestyle under the guidance of the Torah, of our holy Torah, but even more so the leadership of Israel should examine its its actions, especially in recent times. Unfortunately we witness the deterioration of the Jewish character of the state and the hard attitude of the government.…[which passes laws destroying the] Jewish character of our public life, such as damage to the structure of the family unit, damaging the process of conversion by the Torah… etc. etc. The purpose of the offensive laws is to blur the uniqueness of Israel and do as the Gentiles do, God forbid,” Lior wrote.
Lior also attacked land for peace and the current peace process. He cited King David who said, “I speak peace and they are for war." With enemies all around there was no peace, there is no peace, and there will be no peace, Lior insisted.
Lior concluded by insisting that despite the current troubles, salvation will eventually come.
“Even though we do not know the way salvation will come, we know it will come,” Lior wrote.
