The State Attorney's Office reportedly made a deal with Pinto that will allow him to return to Israel, testify against Arbiv, and then return to New York without being prosecuted for a string of bribery, embezzlement and corruption charges stemming from thefts from a charity he controlled. Pinto will supposedly be brought back to Israel at a later date to face those criminal charges – although in reality, that would seem unlikely.

Report: ‘Kabbalist’ Rabbi Yoshiyahu Yosef Pinto To Return To Israel To Testify Against Former Top Cop

Sefardi haredi ‘kabbalist’ Rabbi Yoshiyahu Yosef Pinto has reportedly agreed to return to Israel tonight to testify against former senior police officer Menashe Arbiv, Arutz Sheva reported based on a report from Israel’s Channel 10 News.
Pinto is expected to be back in Israel tomorrow.
The State Attorney's Office reportedly made a deal with Pinto that will allow him to return to Israel, testify against Arbiv, and then return to New York without being prosecuted for a string of bribery, embezzlement and corruption charges stemming from thefts from a charity he controlled. (Some reports claim that Pinto will also have to pass a lie detector test regarding the allegations he has made about Arbiv.)
Pinto will supposedly be brought back to Israel at a later date to face those criminal charges – although in reality, that would seem unlikely.
Pinto allegedly bribed Arbiv to get information on the corruption and embezzlement investigation into the Hazon Yeshaya charity Pinto controlled.
Hazon Yeshaya leaders allegedly took millions of dollars in food donations earmarked for Holocaust survivors and sold them illegally to food distributors for tens of millions of dollars. The money was allegedly pocketed by Hazon Yeshaya leaders, including Pinto.
Hazon Yeshaya was closed in 2012 due to the fraud allegations.
Pinto allegedly tried to bribe another top Israeli police officer, Ephraim Bracha, to get Hazon Yeshaya investigation information, as well.
But Bracha immediately reported the bribery attempt to his superiors. A sting was set up and Pinto and his wife were caught trying to bribe Bracha with $200,000. Both Pinto and his wife were arrested. She tried to commit suicide soon after, and both Pinto and his wife eventually fled Israel for New York.
Pinto will reportedly be indicted for those Hazon Yeshaya thefts and for related charges, including obstruction of justice and money laundering.
Arbiv, who will reportedly be tried for bribery and public corruption, has consistently denied the allegations against him and has repeatedly said he has proof Pinto is lying about him and smearing him in order to get a sweetheart plea deal in his bribery, embezzlement, money laundering and obstruction of justice case.
Police, the State Attorney’s Office and the attorney general have all reportedly refused to see that evidence or speak to Arbiv about it.
If Pinto is actually prosecuted, he will likely serve a year or less in prison, even though similar charges would net someone else many years in prison if convicted.
Pinto is one of the ten richest rabbis in Israel with a net worth in the tens of millions of dollars. He is also close to many political, military and business leaders and acts as a kabbalist to the stars, advising them on political moves and business deals and showering them with ‘blessings.’
Pinto’s deal with the State Attorney’s Office that allows him to come to Israel, testify against Arbiv and then leave for New York without being immediately prosecuted for the crimes he himself allegedly committed, only to be returned to Israel and an unspecified future date to face prosecution on those very same charges, seems to have been constructed specifically to negate what appear to be accurate allegations made by Arbiv that Israel’s attorney general and state’s attorney are willing to allow Pinto to walk free in order to convict Arbiv on questionable charges.
