Rabbi Mordechai "Moti" Elon
Convicted Zionist Orthodox Child Sex Abuser Stops Teaching In Yeshiva After Grassroots Protests

Zionist Orthodox child sex abuser Rabbi Mordechai "Moti" Elon has not taught his weekly class at Or Etzion Yeshiva for the past six weeks, the Hebrew news website Walla reported.
Elon taught the class each week for the past several years, even after being convicted on two counts of forcible sexual assault against a minor.
The yeshiva – which is headed by Rabbi Haim Druckman, the leading Zionist Orthodox rabbi worldwide and a repeated defender of rabbinic pedophiles – refused to tell Wall whether Elon’s class had been permanently terminated.
Druckman publicly supported Elon during his trial and insisted that Elon, continue teaching children and young adults, even after he was convicted of molesting one of them. Druckman also verbally attacked Elon’s alleged victims before during and after the trial and did the same to the victim who Elon was found guilty of molesting.
“I don’t believe there is anything in his Torah lessons that is not kosher. There is no reason not to learn from him or listen to Torah lessons from him,” Druckman said after the conviction, which he called a “mistake” by the court.
Druckman also is the chairman of Bnei Akiva schools.
Allison Kaplan Sommer reports in Ha’aretz, Beit Shemesh resident Miriam Zussman distributed a letter to Bnei Akiva supporters in the diaspora, asking that asked them to bring pressure on Druckman by having them notify board members of the board of American Friends of Yeshiva Bnei Akiva that Druckman was enabling Elon and flouting the court’s decision. The letter calls Elon a “dangerous, habitual sexual predator” and says that Druckman’s decision to allow and encourage Elon to continue teaching “reflects very badly on Rabbi Druckman's judgment and calls into question whether he should be entrusted with the welfare of the 24,000 students in the school network.”
That effort failed to cause Druckman to bar Elon from the yeshiva and Elon continued teaching as if nothing happened. (Because a judge sentenced Elon to community service instead of prison, and because Elon’s family is politically connected, there is little to impede Elon from unsupervised contact with minors.)
Enter more grassroots action.
A group, reportedly led by Emunah Klein and made up primarily of women and young adults, began holding a weekly protest vigil outside Druckman’s yeshiva during Elon’s class.
Suddenly, Elon stopped showing up for his class.
“Finally, thanks to a small group of dedicated kids, led by Emunah Klein, justice has prevailed and the protection that Rabbi Druckman afforded to Moti Elon – an unapologetic, convicted child abuser – has hopefully come to an end. I would prefer to hear an official apology, but I am not sure that will happen. I certainly hope that Rabbi Druckman does not change his mind and allow this convicted sex offender to teach youth again,” Zussman told Kaplan Sommer.
Elon is the scion of a leading politically Zionist Orthodox family and is the former rosh yeshiva of the Zionist Orthodox flagship, Yeshivat HaKotel in Jerusalem's Old City.
