“Remember what happened in Ukraine, the president had to step down. Here, too, if the powers that be fight us and religion, they will not succeed, none of them will succeed. One million people will flood Jerusalem, and [Prime Minister] Netanyahu will need to step down."
We Will Fight Like Ukraine And Force Netanyahu To Resign If The Government Drafts Haredi Yeshiva Students, Haredi Rabbi Claims

Haredim will fight the draft no matter what types of economic sanctions and criminal penalties the government imposes, Rabbi Tuvia Schulzinger, a close associate of haredi rebel leader Rabbi Shmuel Auerbach, told Arutz Sheva.
“Remember what happened in Ukraine, the president had to step down. Here, too, if the powers that be fight us and religion, they will not succeed, none of them will succeed. One million people will flood Jerusalem, and [Prime Minister] Netanyahu will need to step down,” Schulzinger said.
He also insisted that haredim would rather die than serve in the military.
“[The late haredi leader] Rabbi [Elazar Menachem Mann] Shach already said that we won’t stay in the country. People need to sacrifice for this, and it’s likely some will be killed in this war [against the government and the draft]. But under no circumstances will we allow young men to be prevented from learning Torah,” Schulzinger declared.
Schulzinger also was skeptical about the government’s ability to deal with haredi draft dodging.
“What are they going to do, put tens of thousands of men in jail?” he asked.
Schulzinger claims the real reason for drafting haredim is hatred and the desire to change the haredi way of life.
“There is a deep hate of haredim, a hate led by [Finance Minister] Yair Lapid. They want to change our faith. It won’t work. Tanks, APCs [armored personnel carriers] – nothing will crush us. The Torah is eternal,” Schulzinger insisted.
Earlier this week, the councils of Torah sages of the three major haredi factions issued an unprecidented joint statement banning all haredi yeshiva students from serving in the IDF.
Meanwhile, pro-haredi draft activist Yoel Marshak, a leader of the Kibbutz Movement, said police and the army should act with restraint.
“The haredi community has the right to come together and protest. The responses are severe, because this really is a significant change. I call on everyone to show restraint, and to let them express their opinion about something that stands in opposition to everything they have believed until today,” Marshak told Arutz Sheva, adding that haredi leaders who take part in anti-draft protests are who make inflammatory statements against the government are putting on a show for appearances’ sake. “Those same representatives gave their approval to the meetings of the [Knesset committee that is writing the new law that will draft haredim]…I mean, really,” Marshak said.
However, Auerbach’s faction was not a part of those Knesset negotiations and, earlier this week, Auerbach called on haredi yeshiva students to sacrifice their very lives to fight the draft.
A senior haredi figure who was very close to the late haredi leader Rabbi Yosef Shalom Elyashiv told an Israeli national radio interviewer this week that he had been told by a source he trusted in the haredi community that a haredi would assassinate Finance Minister Yair Lapid over the draft law and cuts to government funding of haredi yeshivas.
