Israel Has No Right To Exist Unless It Capitulates To Haredim, Haredi Rebel Leader Says

It will be, haredi rebel leader Rabbi Shmuel Auerbach said, “fight until the death.”
The non-hasidic haredi rebel faction Auerbach heads held a protest rally Saturday night in Jerusalem against the proposed new universal draft law that, if passed, would see some haredim drafted and compelled to serve in the IDF.
The number of actual haredi yeshiva students impacted by the draft is likely to be very small. Instead, lawmakers have crafted the proposed bill so that haredi yeshiva heads can essentially use ex-haredim, shababbnikim – students thrown out of haredi yeshivas for noncompliance with haredi doctrine or because they have learning disabilities or drug problems who now roam the streets in packs – and ba’al teshuvas (newly haredi teens and young adults), to fill their draft quotas, largely sparing actual haredim from having to serve in the military.
Even so, the bill contains the possibility of criminal charges for haredi draft dodgers and other sanctions, and this angers haredi leaders who oppose the draft in any form if it in any way mandates haredim to serve in the military.
The opposition to the draft from Auerbach’s haredi rebel faction has been especially vehement, as was evident at last night’s protest rally.
"Any rights to live in the State of Israel are due to the Torah learning within it, and when it [i.e., the state] harasses those who learn Torah it relinquishes its right to exist. Do not surrender to them! I appreciate the young men who are standing their ground on this. We will fight until the death for our rights,” Auerbach fumed.
