Sorin and four partners – Sorin included Jack Zibak, Jack Zaibak, David Gerowitz and Philip Mandel – ran a drug ring that sold hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of oxycodone, heroin and cocaine. They were arrested in April.
Police said Sorin and his partners texted customers with instructions on how to pick up their purchases, and made sure to warn customers that the gang was closed for business on Shabbos, the Jewish Sabbath that runs from just before sundown on Fridays to just after sundown on Saturdays.
“We are closing 7:30 on the dot and we will reopen Saturday 8:15 so if u need anything you have 45 mins. to get what you want,” one of the text messages allegedly read.
The gang allegedly used stolen prescription pads and other illegal methods to obtain the drugs.
When the gang was raided, police seized about 900 glassines of heroin, 335 oxycodone pills, cocaine, as well as the prescription drugs Xanax, Suboxone and Klonopin along with a sawed-off shotgun and ammunition.
