A new paper published in the European Journal of Human Genetics (EJHG) claims to prove that a previous paper authored by Michael F. Hammer and number of other geneticists is false because Hammer and his coauthors essentially cooked the books to show that the "Y chromosomal Adam" is extremely ancient and about twice as old as previously thought, and that this ancient “Adam” had intercourse with human “species.”
But those claims by Hammer, et al, have apparently been debunked by Eran Elhaik, Tatiana V Tatarinova, Anatole A Klyosov and Dan Graur in their new article in EJHG.
Hammer is the same person who published researched he claimed proved the existence of a single Kohain ancestor as well as a single Levite ancestor, both of whom he traced back to approximately the time of the Biblical Aharon and Moses. However, those claims were debunked: (Klyosov 2009; Tofanelli et al. 2009), using incorrect mutation rates(Klyosov 2009), data manipulation (Zoossmann-Diskin 2000; Zoossmann-Diskin et al. 2002; Zoossmann-Diskin 2006; Klyosov 2009), and other alleged attempts to manipulate the results(2005; Klyosov 2009), and Elhaik debunked Hammer's “Jewish genome” study last year in the Journal Nature.
