A married Chabad-ordained rabbi has been returned to New York from California – where he worked in a youth center that caters to Iranian Jewish teens – to face felony child sex abuse charges, CBS 2 reported.
Thirty-year-old Menachem Tewel (sometimes spelled “Tevel”) allegedly abused a teenage boy six years ago in Crown Heights, Brooklyn.
He was arraigned this morning in Brooklyn and pleaded not guilty.
Bail was reportedly set at $100,000.
At least two other cases related to Tewel are reportedly under investigation.
