The Knesset's Committee on Public Petitions is holding ahearing tomorrow morning on funding groups that help haredim who have chosen to leave haredi communities and on funding ex-haredim.
The committee is meeing at 9:30 am.
Among the groups invited to participate are Da'at Emet, the group that tries to get haredim to leave their communities and embrace the modern world; and Hillel, the group that, similar to Footsteps in America, helps haredim who have chosen to leave their communities acclimate to secular life.
For almost a decade, haredi parties have successfully blocked any funding for ex-haredim and groups that support them. But now haredi parties are not part of the governing coalition and have very reduced power.
