The Knesset Ethics Committee has suspended MK Rabbi Meir Porush of the Ashkenazi haredi United Torah Judaism Party in response to an outburst by Porush disrupted the Knesset last summer, the Jerusalem Post reported.
In July, to protest a new draft bill that would draft haredi yeshiva students into the military Porush handcuffed himself to the Knesset podium while speaking and refused to leave.
Knesset guards and maintenance workers eventually released the handcuffs and removed Porush.
More than three months later, Porush was finally penalized for his actions today.
He was barred from giving speeches in the plenum for two weeks.
