Rabbi Eliezer Berland Expelled From Morocco

Rabbi Eliezer Berland, the head of the Breslov hasidic Shuvu Banim sect, was expelled from Morocco last night and is currently hiding in an unknown stopover country, Yeshiva World reported.
Berland, who is wanted in Israel for alleged sex crimes committed against female followers, some of whom were minors at the time of the alleged assaults.
He was expelled from Morocco by the country's king immediately after the king read a Moroccan newspaper account of Berland's alleged crimes.
Berland left Morocco last night along with several close followers and their families. He is now reportedly looking for a country without an extradition treaty with Israel to accept him.
Berland son and grandson were recently arrested along with several other Breslov hasidim in Israel and are charged with money laundering, tax evasion and related crimes related to their handling of the sect's finances.
