Joseph “Yossi” Ross, the CEO of Century Coverage Corp. who allegedly conspired with former Metropolitan Council On Jewish Poverty CEO William E. Rapfogel to steal millions of dollars from the anti-poverty nonprofit, has been charged with multiple counts of money laundering, grand larceny and conspiracy, Newsday reported.
Ross – a Breslov hasid who plays a senior leadership role in Breslov’s international umbrella organization – allegedly personally got at least $1 million of that stolen money.
Rapfogel, who is Modern Orthodox, allegedly pocketed more than $1 million in two decades long fraud and embezzlement scheme. He pleaded not guilty earlier this fall.
The charges against Ross increase the total amount of money stolen from the nonprofit to $7 million from the previously set $5 million.
