Mainstream haredi leaders led by Ashkenazi haredi leader Rabbi Aharon Leib Shteinman (pictured at right) and #2 mainstream Ashkenazi haredi Rabbi Chaim Kanievsky are demanding that yeshiva students and rabbis who voted for the haredi rebel faction led by Rabbi Shmuel Auerbach sign an apology and loyaty oath that apologizies for voting against Shteinman's party, Degel HaTorah (the Ashkenazi non-hasidic half of the United Torah Judaism Party) and promises never to cross Shteinman and other mainstream haredi rabbis again. Those who refuse to sign the document (posted below) will be expelled from their yeshivas and kollels immediately.
