Arutz Sheva reports that Deputy Minister for Religious Affairs, MK Rabbi Eli Ben-Dahan, was physically attacked at Rabbi Ovadia Tosef's funeral by haredim:
…”I went to [Rabbi Ovadia Yosef’s funeral] to show honor for the deceased, and there were a few [haredi] youths who attacked me physically, and kicked me," Ben-Dahan said. "I'm happy to say, a large crowd protected me, and prevented them from getting close to me," he added.
Ben-Dahan pointed to recent incitement in the hareidi media for fueling the animosity shown towards him, and also laid the blame at the hareidi politicians who, he said, "are finding it hard to absorb the fact that they are not in the government."
"This incitement has to stop," the Deputy Minister said.…
Housing Uri Ariel was also pushed, shoved and verbally attacked at the funeral, and then later at the Yosef family's mourning tent, Ben Dahan was verbally attacked by Sefardi haredi yeshiva students.
