Satmar Village Streets Were Once Overflowing With Garbage

The Satmar hasidic Village of Kiryas Joel was reportedly full of garbage in August 2010 – so much so that at least one street chocked by it became impassible and had be cleared by cleaning crews.
The story behind this eyesore may portend badly for Satmar's new hasidic village, Kiryas Yatev Lev, in Bloomingburg, New York and Satmar's new neighbors there.
Trash filled the village sidewalks and streets because it was reportedly put there intentionally by hasidim after flyers attacking certain Satmar individuals that contained their home phone numbers and other personal information were littered all over Kiryas Joel.
In response, village residents dumped their own garbage on top of those flyers to cover them up.
Two people were reportedly arrested for littering.
Why didn't hasidim simply pick up the littered flyers and throw them in the trash?
That remains unclear to this day.
