The Williamsburg Satmar Rebbe, Rabbi Zalman Teitelbaum, recently contacted Rabbi Yitzchok Tuvia Weiss, the head rabbi of the Mea-Shearim-based virulently anti-Zionist haredi umbrella organization Edah Haredit, and told Weiss that Satmar is sending $15 million to Edah Haredit to help fund haredi schools whose budgets have been cut by the government, Yeshiva World reported.
The $15 million was reportedly raised at a recent Satmar dinner in New York.
Teitelbaum reportedly told Weiss that the money should be used to help haredim continue with their rabbinically-dictated lifestyle while blocking the hated Zionist government’s attempts to force haredi schools to teach basic secular subjects like math.
