A spokeswoman for the campaign of Brooklyn D.A. Charles J. Hynes said none of the people who appeared in the ads work for either the D.A'.s political or government office in any paid or unpaid capacity – but Hynes' spokeswoman lied.
Celeste Katz reports in the NY Daily News:
…A Hynes spokeswoman said none of the people who appeared in the ads work for either the DA's political or government office in any paid or unpaid capacity.
Update, 8:32 p.m.: I had noted in my exchanges with the campaign that the woman in the last clip speaks as if she either works for Hynes or was perhaps a member of a community group working with the DA's office. While the clip's super notes that "THIS PERSON IS NOT AN ACTOR," Hynes spokeswoman Chelsea Connor now confirms "Diana B." is in fact a sitting assistant district attorney who was "in no way compensated" for her appearance in the ad.
Dishonest. Sleazy. Unethical. Charles J. Hynes. What a horried person to have as a sittling district attorney.
