The Gordon, Nebraska slaughterhouse once owned by the Rubashkin family has finally been sold after more than three years on the market.
MeatPoultry.com reported that plant was purchased by Open Range Beef from First Bank Business Capital, Inc. of St. Louis and the City of Gordon. The sellers bought the plant and its contents from Agriprocessors’ bankruptcy sale in 2009.
When it reopens, the plant, will create 60 to 70 new jobs.
It will only slaughter beef.
