Linda Reade, the chief judge of the U.S. District Court or Northern Iowa, sentenced a 24-year-old former Iowa college student, Lucas Robinson, to 42 years in federal prison for enticing a dozen minor girls to send him sexually explicit photos and videos – including explicit live video – of themselves over the Internet, the Associated Press reported.
Robinson – who admitted luring the girls into making the explicit images – used those images and videos to extort the minors, threatening to send them to the girls' friends, parents and classmates unless they made more explicit images and videos of themselves and sent them to Robinson.
At least one of the minors threatened to kill herself in response to Robinson’s threats.
Reade reportedly labeled Robinson a "serial predator against children" who deserved the maximum sentence she could give under law.
Reade was the presiding judge in the bank fraud and money laundering trial of former Agriprocessors' VP Sholom Rubashkin.
