The Feldman's, the leading Chabad family in Sydney, Australia, is – again – embroiled in scandal – this one involving what is allegedly a beit din judgement of almost $2 million against Rabbi Pinchus Feldman and his son Yossi.
Rabbi Pinchus Feldman is the official head of Chabad in Sydney and New South Wales.
The story is about to break in Australia, and at this point I will wait for that to happen before posting further information.
But I will point out that the Feldmans – especially Yossi – allegedly sent threatening emails to a victim of what some call a Ponzi scheme run by the Feldmans.
There are more victims, but so far, apparently only this one has gone to beit din to try to get his money back.
None have apparently gone to police, in part because of threats from the Feldmans and in part because of fear that they will be excommunicated or otherwise shunned for doing so.
